I have been busy in the few days silence making this stole. The grey background is the scanner, should have slipped a page of coloured paper behind it, but could not find any of the right colour. It is nice and long so if I can find enough of the right fabric I will cut a bit off and attach it to a bag so that I am all matching.

Maureen that is interesting. What techniques are you using to join things together. It is hard to see in the picture, but I like the overall effect.

Nicki, I covered Vilene 541 dissolvable with the threads, put another layer of the Vilene on top and machine stitched in a toning thread all over the sandwich. When covered with stitching I lay the sandwich in the bathtub and soaked it overnight so it is not stiff. I put metallic ribbons and threads in it and it is heaps prettier than in the picture. Next time I do this though I will spray glue the threads into place before picking up to stitch it!
Sounds great but quite complicated. I like the idea of using threads to make a fabric that is not woven or felted.
