Fundraising for Alzheimers

I was surfing the net the other day and found that Ami Simms is raising funds for research into Alzheimers through the auction of small quilts. Since my mother had dementia for many years, I thought I would make a quilt for this initiative. I read this morning that they have discovered an Alzheimers vaccine that works on mice, I can only hope that trials on humans will be successful.

Maureen,
I'm so glad you found the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative! Our auctions are the first 10 days of each month and the entire bid goes to Alzheimer's research.

There is also a 52-quilt traveling exhibit touring the US. Over 100,000 people have already seen it. I'm delighted to share also that the book about the exhibit, called, Alzheimer's: Forgetting Piece by Piece is not in publication. Pre-orders are being taken now. See: www.AlzQuilts.org. Thank you for helping us make a difference....one quilt at at time!
Ami :)
