Tsunami Charity Block


Tsunami Charity Block

...is all finished. Silk fabrics, vintage ribbons, tatting, bobbin lace, embroidery and beading. The teddy is to commemorate the children who were injured or who lost their lives in the tsunami. I worked with blue colours to suggest tranquillity.

Really pretty! I love it....are the flowers embroidered? What stitch did you use (the flowers in the lower left corner).

The flowers in the lower left corner are part of the embroidered ribbon. The little daisies almost in the centre with a bead in the middle are tatted. Not being brilliant at embroidery tatting saves my life many a time! The flowers at the top are buttonhole stitch done in a circle, but this tends to pull away and I think I should have done twisted buttonhole stitch.
