WIP Fabric Art Journal

My fabric art journal is going to be a stitch sampler journal, using the Jan Beaney and Jean Littlejohn book 'Stitch Magic' for inspiration. I thought of painting the linen, but decided against it as it would limit the colour borders that will go round each little sample and possibly also the thread used. The first sample shown here is herringbone stitch, and I am a good way through the detatched chain stitch sample. All unironed, straight out of the hoop -
